This Japanese womenswear brand positions itself between relaxed and formal styles. The feminine silhouette is emphasised in her collections, which is both dominating and sophisticated. The fashion-forward label is named after the Japanese word for ‘jade’, and focuses on a mix-and-match layered formula that is a signature of Japan’s direction for womenswear. Starting out in 2005, Hiroko Ito has undertaken several collaborations with Japanese artists, such as Hiro Tanaka and Takeshi Matsuoka and was one of the first Japanese designers to explore Japan’s now-famous mix-and-match layered look. Previously, the designer worked with Japanese fashion legend Comme des Garçons from 1994 to 1998.
